The Distinguished Flying Cross is a medal awarded to any officer or enlisted member of the US Armed Forces who distignuished himself or herself in support of operations by heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in an aerial flight.
While the US has many National Memorials, we do not have one for these brave persons.
A memorial is under construction at March Field Air Museum on Riverside, California and will be designated as the Distinguished Flying Cross National Memorial. This does not make the memorial part of the National Park System, therefore it will be funded by the public, not Federal Funds.
